Get Your Daisy Roots On For A Bowl Of Chalk

Bowl of Chalk London Walks
From time to time we like to feature on Rohantime interesting services discovered by our Rohan Shop teams. There is nothing like local knowledge! Bowl of Chalk is just that the Rohan Covent Garden team mentioned Jonnie’s Walking Tours in London.

We asked Jonnie to tell us more…

“I’ve been doing London walks for two and a half years. They’re called ‘Bowl Of Chalk‘ (cockney rhyming slang for ‘walk’), although I’m not from London originally. I guess when you live in a city, you very rarely actually take the time to explore it because you’re busy working and generally existing. The whole thing kind of happened by accident, but basically I started learning stuff about London and it completely changed the way I understood and saw the city I’d been living in for over a decade. Although I get a lot of tourists coming on walks, I still often get Londoners or people who have lived here for a while so it’s nice to have that mix.

I do three regular ‘pay what you want walks’ on weekends.
On Saturday mornings from Trafalgar Square, through Covent Garden and down Fleet Street to St Paul’s cathedral. On Saturday afternoons we head over the river to Bankside & Borough and on Sundays I do around east London. I also do ‘private walks’ during the week whereby I put together itineraries for people based on what they’d like to see, interests etc.
My walks are reasonably general, and it’s basically stuff that interests me, so bits of history, people, places, building etc.. – Jonnie – Bowl Of Chalk
